For the Turkey Meatballs
  • 1 lb Ground turkey Choose lean turkey
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Plain or Italian-seasoned
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese For flavor and moisture
  • 1 large Egg Natural binder
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves Minced for aroma
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning Dried herbs blend
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
For the Sauce and Pasta
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For sautéing
  • 28 oz Canned crushed tomatoes Heart of the sauce
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil or parsley Chopped
  • 12 oz Spaghetti Cook until al dente
  • 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes Optional for heat

Method
 

Directions
  1. In a large bowl, gently combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until just mixed.
  2. Roll mixture into 1-inch meatballs, then heat olive oil in a skillet and brown on all sides until golden, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic to the same skillet; sauté until onion is translucent and garlic fragrant, about 3 minutes over medium heat.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and red pepper flakes; bring to a gentle simmer, then nestle meatballs back in; cover and cook 20 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, boil spaghetti in generously salted water until al dente, about 8–10 minutes; drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
  6. Toss drained spaghetti into sauce; add reserved pasta water if needed, then garnish with fresh basil and extra Parmesan.
