For the Beef Stir-Fry
- Heat oil: Warm vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering and lightly smoking.
- Sauté garlic and shallots: Add minced garlic and thinly sliced shallots; cook 30 seconds until fragrant and edges just turn golden.
- Brown beef: Increase heat to high, add ground beef, cooking 4–5 minutes, breaking it up until no pink remains and lightly crisped.
- Add sauces: Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar; cook 1–2 minutes until sauce bubbles and coats beef richly.
- Stir in basil: Remove from heat, fold in Thai basil leaves until wilted and fragrant.
