Ingredients
  

For the Chicken & Rice Base
  • 1 lbs boneless chicken thighs or breasts for leaner protein
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice absorbs creamy liquid perfectly
  • 2 cups chicken broth adds rich flavor
  • 3 cloves minced garlic boosts depth with aromatic warmth
  • 1 medium chopped onion sauté until translucent
For Creaminess & Cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese melts smoothly
  • 4 oz cream cheese adds silky richness
  • 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream to enhance creaminess
Seasonings & Garnish
  • 1 tsp salt for seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper for seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika adds smoky warmth
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Warm 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sear 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic. Cook over medium heat 2–3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Stir in rice and pour in chicken broth. Bring to a simmer and season lightly.
  5. Nestle browned chicken back on top. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer 18–20 minutes until rice absorbs liquid.
  6. Remove lid, add cream cheese and milk around chicken, then sprinkle cheddar on top. Cover until cheese melts.
  7. Let rest off heat for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
