Ingredients
  

For the Tofu
  • 1 block Extra-firm tofu Press well to remove moisture
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Helps achieve crunch
  • 2 tablespoons Neutral oil Like canola or avocado
For the Mild Soy Glaze
  • 1/4 cup Low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup or honey For natural sweetness
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil For nutty finish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Press extra-firm tofu between clean kitchen towels for 15 minutes.
  3. Cube the tofu into 1-inch pieces and toss with cornstarch and neutral oil.
For the Glaze
  1. Whisk soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until smooth.
  2. Toss tofu cubes in half of the glaze, reserving the rest for brushing.
  3. Bake tofu cubes for 25–30 minutes, flipping and brushing with glaze halfway.
  4. Rest the baked tofu for 5 minutes before serving.
