Teriyaki Shrimp Stir Fry recipe

  • Author: Sophia

Ingredients

Scale

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
  • Sesame seeds and green onions (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce
In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey or agave syrup, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch mixture now. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Broccoli
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add broccoli and sauté for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp
In the same skillet, add shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the broccoli.
  4. Sauté the Garlic
Lower the heat to medium-low. Sauté minced garlic in the skillet for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Simmer the Sauce
Pour in the teriyaki sauce and simmer for 1-2 minutes. If the sauce is thickening too quickly, reduce the heat and add a splash of water.
  6. Combine Ingredients
Return shrimp and broccoli to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
  7. Serve
Serve over cooked rice or noodles, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
