Ingredients
Scale
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
- Sesame seeds and green onions (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce
In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey or agave syrup, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch mixture now. Set aside. - Cook the Broccoli
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add broccoli and sauté for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove and set aside. - Cook the Shrimp
In the same skillet, add shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the broccoli. - Sauté the Garlic
Lower the heat to medium-low. Sauté minced garlic in the skillet for 30 seconds until fragrant. - Simmer the Sauce
Pour in the teriyaki sauce and simmer for 1-2 minutes. If the sauce is thickening too quickly, reduce the heat and add a splash of water. - Combine Ingredients
Return shrimp and broccoli to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly in the sauce. - Serve
Serve over cooked rice or noodles, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
