Sweet and Spicy Cabbage Stir Fry Recipe

  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the Oil
    Start by heating 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the Garlic
    Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until it becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn it as garlic can quickly turn bitter.
  3. Add the Vegetables
    Toss in the chopped cabbage, sliced bell pepper, and julienned carrot. Stir-fry these vegetables for 5-7 minutes. You’ll know they’re ready when they become tender yet still retain a slight crunch.
  4. Prepare the Sauce
    In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), and chili flakes. Adjust the amount of chili flakes according to your heat preference.
  5. Combine and Cook
    Pour the prepared sauce over the stir-fried vegetables. Stir well to ensure all the veggies are coated with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  6. Season and Serve
