Ingredients
Scale
- 3 packages Ramen noodles
- 3 tablespoons olive oil or any cooking oil
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs or tofu for vegetarian
- 1 onion, diced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 6–7 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup Japanese BBQ sauce or hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1–2 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- Optional: sesame seeds, additional BBQ or yum yum sauce
Instructions
- Cook the Ramen noodles as per the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the noodles and rinse them with cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent them from sticking together.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil, then the chicken or tofu, onion, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken is browned or the tofu is golden and the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, followed by the Japanese BBQ sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, and butter. Toss everything together to ensure the noodles are well-coated with the sauce.
- Stir-fry the mixture for 5-7 minutes, allowing the noodles to become slightly crispy and the flavors to meld beautifully.
- Mix in the green onions and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, just until the onions are vibrant and slightly wilted.
- Serve the dish garnished with sesame seeds and a drizzle of extra BBQ or yum yum sauce if desired.
