Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Broth

  1. In a large pot, combine:

    • Chicken (either thighs or breasts)
    • Chicken broth
    • Chopped carrots
    • Chopped celery
    • Diced onion
    • Garlic powder
    • Thyme
    • Salt and pepper to taste

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 20 minutes, ensuring the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

Step 2: Make the Dumpling Dough

  1. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the dumpling dough. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together:

    • All-purpose flour
    • Baking powder
    • Salt

  2. Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter until the mixture forms a soft dough.

Step 3: Shred the Chicken

  1. Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the pot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the simmering broth, ensuring it’s well incorporated into the mixture.

Step 4: Cook the Dumplings

  1. Using a spoon or a small scoop, drop spoonfuls of the prepared dough directly onto the simmering broth. Ensure the dough is distributed evenly across the surface.
  2. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and allow the dumplings to steam for about 15 minutes. Important: Do not lift the lid during this time, as the steam is essential for cooking the dumplings to fluffy perfection.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
