Ingredients
Scale
- ½ sheet puff pastry
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ¼ pound mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- ½ cup crumbled goat cheese
- 4 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking tray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry:
- Lay the puff pastry out on a lightly floured surface to prevent sticking.
- Cut the pastry into 8 equal squares. Use a fork to prick the squares in several places. This will prevent them from puffing up too much during baking.
- Place the puff pastry squares on the prepared baking tray.
- Bake the Puff Pastry:
- Bake the squares in the preheated oven for 7 minutes.
- Remove the tray from the oven and use the backside of a spatula to gently flatten the squares.
- Return the puff pastry to the oven and bake until golden brown, about 5 more minutes.
- Prepare the Mushroom Mixture:
- While the puff pastry is baking, melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and crushed garlic to the skillet. Cook and stir until the mushrooms are tender, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Assemble the Tarts:
- Once the puff pastry squares are golden brown, remove them from the oven.
- Evenly top each square with the mushroom mixture.
- Crumble goat cheese over the mushrooms and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley.
- Serve:
- Serve the tarts warm for the best flavor and texture experience.
