Ham and Broccoli Puffs Recipe

  • Author: Sophia

Ingredients

Scale

  • 4 cups frozen broccoli florets, thawed and finely chopped
  • 1 carton (8 ounces) spreadable chive and onion cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 pound thinly sliced deli ham, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package (17.3 ounces) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 large eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped broccoli, chive and onion cream cheese, shredded Swiss cheese, chopped deli ham, chopped mushrooms, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, unfold the thawed puff pastry sheets. Roll each sheet into a 12-inch square. Using a sharp knife or a pastry cutter, cut each rolled sheet into 16 equal squares.
  3. Fill the Pastry: Place a heaping tablespoonful of the broccoli mixture in the center of each square.
  4. Seal the Puffs: Brush the edges of each pastry square with the beaten eggs. Bring opposite corners over the filling and pinch the seams to seal the puffs.
  5. Bake the Puffs: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the sealed puffs on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the puffs are golden brown.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm for the best taste and texture.
