- 2 cups cooked macaroni
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 slices of bread
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: sliced tomatoes or cooked bacon bits
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheese Sauce:
- In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the pot and stir in the milk and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Continue stirring until the cheese has melted and the mixture is creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Assemble the Sandwiches:
- Spread a generous amount of the mac and cheese mixture onto two slices of bread.
- If desired, add sliced tomatoes or cooked bacon bits for extra flavor.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread to form sandwiches.
- Grill the Sandwiches:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Place the sandwiches in the skillet and grill each side for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve:
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool slightly before serving.
- Enjoy your warm, gooey grilled mac and cheese!
