Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs beef short ribs
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) to ensure a slow, even cook that will tenderize the ribs.
- Prepare the Marinade:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to ensure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- Marinate the Ribs:
- Place the beef short ribs in a baking dish. Pour the prepared marinade over the ribs, making sure they are well-coated. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil to lock in the moisture.
- Bake the Ribs:
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 3 hours. This slow cooking process will result in tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs.
- Prepare the Glaze (Optional):
- For a thicker glaze, mix the cornstarch with a small amount of water to create a slurry. After removing the ribs from the oven, transfer the marinade to a saucepan and bring it to a simmer. Add the cornstarch mixture and stir until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
- Serve:
- Serve the ribs hot, drizzling them with the extra glaze if desired. Enjoy the tropical flavors that will leave your taste buds craving for more!
