Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry
- 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella (or your favorite cheese)
- 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 bunch thin asparagus
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Thaw the Puff Pastry:
- Allow one sheet of puff pastry to thaw overnight in the refrigerator or on the counter until it’s pliable.
- Prepare the Asparagus:
- Trim the ends of the asparagus to remove the tough, woody stems.
- Roll Out the Pastry:
- Once thawed, unfold and roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until the folding lines disappear.
- Transfer to Baking Sheet:
- Place the puff pastry dough and parchment paper directly onto a baking sheet.
- Assemble the Tart:
- Brush the pastry with olive oil.
- Sprinkle half of the Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the pastry.
- Line up the asparagus over the cheese.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and drizzle with the remaining olive oil.
- Bake the Tart:
- Place the tart in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden, and the asparagus is cooked.
- Season and Serve:
- After removing the tart from the oven, sprinkle it with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Garnish with pea shoots or microgreens before serving.
